A Nurse's Odyssey: Navigating the Pandemic's Challenges and Triumphs

Noting the nurses’ heavy shifts, inadequate of Personal Protective Equipment, lack of societal acceptance, and issues with mental health, are few of the screams of our contemporary heroes. They greet patients every day with upbeat smiles and loving hearts while keeping their quivering voices silent. They continue to fight, serve, and care for future generations as well as the Filipino people and the rest of the world, despite their concerns that were buried in their nightmares throughout the conflict.

Nurses and all other health professionals have been on the front lines of the response during the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, which has resulted in over 82 million infections and more than 1.8 million fatalities globally.

They put their own lives at danger in order to protect the lives of everyone who is impacted. It hasn't been simple, though, to rise to the task of providing patient care during the pandemic.

Filipino nurses are finding it difficult to provide treatment for patients as other medical professionals fall ill with COVID-19 or leave a field that was already critically understaffed before the pandemic. They can hardly stomach the scenario, but additional nurses refuse to move.

Thus, despite the distance, we Filipinos should cooperate with our nurses in order to support their efforts to govern and manage toward the new normal.

As they try to advance their profession, they inspire all hopeful people. They demonstrated how challenging yet rewarding the profession of nursing is and that it should be treated with respect by continuing to work towards the betterment of the people despite the pandemic's obstacles.

Let's stand with nurses as they guide us into a new normal and work together to imagine a better future. Let us give them the fortitude to be able to proudly raise the candle of hope as they kindle it. The new normal that we desire might take some time to come about.

Thus, nurses are carrying out their duties to reorient and guide us toward a better present and future; we regular citizens must carry out ours by being nice and understanding. Therefore, much like nurses, let's cultivate the unique qualities that make each person in our complex society unique, to the point where they serve as a powerful force for fostering cooperation and coordination.

Any act of kindness, no matter how tiny, is ever wasted, so may the profession we witness today serve as a wake-up call to the realities of how a person can alter lives for the better in a country.
