An incumbent serves as the confidential principal administrative assistant to the vice president for academic affairs and supports other academic affairs staff in a variety of operational areas including writing and coordinating documents, reports, and presentations, providing general guidance on collegewide academic affairs procedures, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the vice president for academic affairs. An incumbent in this position reports directly to the vice president for academic affairs. The incumbent provides support in areas that include, but are not limited to those listed in the summary statement as well as disseminating information and requests: preparing various reports and presentations; assisting in budget preparation and development by maintaining records and/or compiling data; performing special projects and studies; obtaining, organizing, and drafting administrative materials; and serving as a liaison between the vice president for academic affairs and the associate vice presidents, administrators, deans, directors, faculty and staff, and external agencies and partners.

  1. Ensure the quality, relevance, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
  2. Promote faculty development through training, support, and evaluation.
  3. Enhance student retention, engagement, and graduation rates.
  4. Maintain accreditation standards and ensure compliance with educational regulations.
  5. Align academic programs and initiatives with the institution’s strategic goals.
  6. Support and encourage faculty and student research activities.
  7. Promote the use of innovative technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
Services Offered
  1. Coordinate the design, implementation, and periodic review of academic curricula to ensure they meet current academic and industry standards.
  2. Organize and provide workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance faculty skills and professional growth.
  3. Oversee academic advising programs and provide resources such as tutoring and mentoring to support student success.
  4. Lead the accreditation process, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.
  5. Develop and implement strategic plans for academic initiatives that align with the institution’s mission and goals.
  6. Facilitate research opportunities, provide grants and funding support, and promote collaborative research projects.
  7. Support the adoption of innovative educational technologies and provide training for faculty and staff on new tools and platforms.
